Kandace is a small town girl with a big voice. Raised in Glendon, Alberta - home of the World's Largest Pyrogy, Kandace started performing by the age of 6. She performed in many community events, school functions, weddings and local talent competitions.
By the age of 12 she began songwriting and performed one of these originals to a crowd of 500 people who were captivated by the song and her abilities. Now at the age of 26, Kandace has written and composed almost 100 original songs and feels she is "just getting started"!
Currently residing in Whitecourt , Alberta, Kandace works full-time in the field of Social Work however spends as much time as possible singing and writing. She performs with a local band in the area called "CROSSFIRE" as well as a two piece group called "DOUBLE CROSSED".
Kandace has been working hard at making a name for herself in the music industry, earning many titles and awards over the last several years:
-Grand Prize Winner of Country Vocal Spotlight Competition 2006 – now member of the Global Country Rising Star Program.
-Competed for and earned titles of International Songwriter of the Year for “Someday I’ll Get There”, International Female Entertainer of The Year – Traditional Country, International Female Vocalist of The Year – Traditional Country in the North American Country Music Association International (NACMAI) competition in Pigeon Forge, TN.
-Performed at the Rexall Place during the Saturday night CFR performance in front of 16,000 + people.
-Awarded title of Rising Country Superstar of Edmonton 2006(CISN FM/Cook County contest)
-Awarded title of Rising Country Superstar Red Deer 2006 (KG Country contest)
-Performed on the main stage as one of the opening acts for George Fox in Spruce Grove. (2005)
-Performed on the sub-stage to open for the Corb Lund Band at the Lakeland Music Festival near Bonnyville, AB. (2004)
-Winner of the Berry Burst Cheerios Vocal Search which provided me with the opportunity to sing the jingle in the commercial that was nationally broadcast on such channels as CMT and CTV. (2004)
-2nd place winner of the Future’s Fest talent competition at the Windspear Centre, for performance of an original song: For My Angel. (2004)
-Performed with Danny Hooper and the Honky Tonk Heroes in Las Vegas for 8 nights during the National Finals Rodeo. (2002)
Kandace recently completed her debut album, titled "Someday I'll get There". It consists of 10 original songs, two of which were co-written with friends.
